Assemble at International Airport along with original Passport, Tickets and relevant documents in your bag. Tour Manager from Travelstall – Vacations Gateway India, will meet the group, will accompany and assist the group. Proceed for Boarding, immigration and Security check, later on to board the flight.
Arrive at Orlando International Airport, Meet and Greet by the Local Representative and we will be transferred to our hotel.
Check in, Followed by Dinner and Overnight stay at Hotel.
Morning breakfast at the Hotel. Transfer to KSC.
Check-In at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex – Educator greets and welcome students as they arrive, then escort them through KSC security and to their “Base Camp” classroom for a welcome and introduction activity.
Welcome and Introduction Activity – Educators introduce themselves, and review the International Camp KSC program rules and agenda. Students introduce themselves to the Educators through a “get-to- know-you” interactive program. Educators answer all the questions about the program.
Rocket Garden And Early Space Exploration – Educators introduce the concept of space travel by guiding students through the early years of NASA. Students encounter and photograph the actual rockets, spaceships spacecraft and spacesuits from the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs while hearing stories of our early space heroes. Students can climb into and take pictures of full-scale mock-ups and take pictures of the early space capsules found throughout the Rocket Garden.
The Apollo Saturn V Center – Students are transported aboard a KSC bus to the spectacular Apollo/Saturn V Center where dramatic multi-media shows and numerous hands-on displays provide visitor with an inspirational and exhilarating look into America’s quest for the moon. Students relive the historic launch of Apollo 8 at the Firing Room Theatre, then marvel at a monstrous 363-foot long Saturn V moon rocket. Finally, the Lunar Theatre provides a rare look at the harrowing final moments before.
Educational Goals: Students learn that most events in the universe (e.g., weather changes, moving cars, and the transfer of a nervous impulse in the human body) involve some form of energy transfer, and that these changes almost always increase the total disorder of the system and its surroundings, reducing the amount of useful energy. Indian Lunch – Students dine at one of our food venues. Lunch would be provided at the Camp.
3D IMAX – In two giant IMAX theatres, the dream of spaceflight comes alive to students with a wall of sound, a five-story screen and realistic 3-D special effects. Dramatic footage shot by NASA astronauts during actual missions allow students to feel like they’re floating alongside them.
Windshield Tour –The students follow the path the Shuttle takes as it exits the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) onto the crawler way on its journey to Launch Pad 39A. Students also have the opportunity to view the Shuttle Landing Facility, site of the shuttle’s return home to the Kennedy Space Center. Students end the day with hands on science and engineering project designed for their age group.
Educational Goals: The student explains and shows the ways in which a net Force (that is, the sum of all acting forces) can act on an object (e.g.
Speeding up an object travelling in the same direction as the net force, slowing down an object travelling in the direction opposite of the net force).
The student knows that if more than one force acts on an object, then the forces can reinforce or cancel each other, depending on their direction and magnitude. The student knows that scientific knowledge is subject to modification as new information challenges prevailing theories and as a new theory leads to looking at old observations in a new way. The student knows that science disciplines differ from one another in topic, techniques, and outcomes but that they share a common purpose, philosophy, and enterprise. The student knows that science ethics demand that scientists must not knowingly subject co-workers, students, the neighbourhood, or the community to health or property risks.
Evening Dinner at the Hotel/Restaurant
Breakfast at the Hotel
Proceed towards the KSC Camp. Today we would be learning about:
Air Rockets – Educators lead students through the science of rocketry, propulsion and Newton’s Laws as each student constructs, then launches, their own air rockets.
Lunch provided at the camp.
Explorers Wanted – Students are immersed into an environment of discovery and exploration where multimedia presentations display what the future of space travel may look like, emphasizing that space exploration is not just about the hardware, but about the people behind the technology that make it all possible.
Shuttle Launch Experience – Students “Get Vertical” as they ride the Shuttle Launch Experience; it is an authentic flight simulator designed to replicate the thrill of launching into space aboard the Space Shuttle.
Truss Build – Innovative space and earth architecture incorporated with engineering design process. Dinner at the Hotel/Restaurant
Morning breakfast at the Hotel.
With reference to Schedule we would performing the following activities:
Star Trek Live – based on the popular science-fiction franchise, the show takes Students on an exhilarating journey offering an unforgettable live theatrical experience that combines fun special effects, audience interaction and an exploration of real space-age technology.
Robot Scouts – Students learn from trailblazers for the human experiment as robotic probes talk about their interplanetary exploits Student Challenge: Students are presented with a mission challenge for which they must present information supporting their decision to an audience consisting of peers, educators, and a representative from the space industry.
Team Engineering Challenges – Students team-up as they are presented with NASA engineering challenges. All engineering builds are based on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics components. Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV) in tandem with Apollo Saturn V Center and Apollo Era
Lunch provided at the camp.
Shuttle Plaza – Educators provide students with a guided tour of the Space Shuttle Explorer, a full-scale mock – up of the Space Shuttle.
Astronaut Hall of Fame – Students enjoy a guided tour of the Astronaut Hall of Fame. They will view spaceflight memorabilia, space-related artefacts, and an actual Mercury spacecraft and Gemini Training spacecraft. They will also experience a variety of hands-on activities in our Simulator room. On our Education Training Floor, students will experience the thrill of motion-based astronaut training simulators modelled
After those used to train for the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, and Shuttle Programs. This may include the Multi-Axis trainer, Micro-Gravity Wall, and T-Chair (trajectory). Dinner at the Hotel/Restaurant.
International Camp KSC will begin at 9:00a.m. At Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, Kennedy Space Center, Florida 32899. The day will conclude at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex between 3:00 pm and 4:30 pm unless otherwise stated.
